In common with any area of activity, Amazon Advertising has its own jargon, which can sometimes confuse newcomers and experienced advertisers alike (if the latter are more familiar with advertising on other platforms).

To help cut through the fog of confusion, Amazon Ad School experts and their “Wizard” helpers have collected those terms into this handy database. If you find a piece of jargon that isn’t included here, please let us know so we can include it in later versions!

We’ve tried to lay this glossary out so that it can provide a quick look-up with a short explanation, but also a more detailed explanation for any cases where it might be helpful or when you have time for a more leisurely read.

Tips to get the most out of this tool:

  • Select the magnifying glass in the upper right corner to quickly search and locate the word you’re curious about.
  • Fields can be expanded by selecting the double-headed arrow that displays when you mouse-over or select a field.
  • Try adjusting the Row Height setting to see more of each field while scrolling (you can find this on the top menu of the database).

Please contact teamadschool@gmail.com if you have any suggestions or concerns.

The Ad Squad extends a huge thank-you to John Beresford for taking the initiative to research and create the first iteration of this evolving glossary 🙂
